Albook Visual Style for Windows by kool4 :

Albook VS is a port from mac [originally made by Xiap (www.xiap.net to windows by kool4 (http://kool4.deviantart.com)

There are three variants and the third one is a little bit different from the original for mac.

I think it looks more kool.

Unfortunately there won`t be any shellstyle for this Visual style but i might try to make one after my exams.

There are four substyles in this Visual style.

Two with windows flags , two with apple logos.

I found a bug. All of the substyles produce thick taskbars on my destop. Am I the only one getting this? I am using 1280x1024 resolution. Any help is appreciated.

Are you using True Launchbar? I had same glitch. Its coming from the combination of two. Though I was able to eliminate it by changing TLB media control skin a few random times. I don't really know what exactlly is causing this.

Hi, I am not using true launch bar, just the usual quick launch toolbar.

Try turning off quick launch bar and see if that makes a difference.

But there is something to fix in VS for sure as this doesnt happen to me with any other VS

I tried to turn the quick launch off and restart the computer but it's still the same.

What I realize between the VS's screenshot and my taskbar is that the day does not show up on the taskbar but mine does. But I did not set it to appear. Besides, for other visual styles, the day does not appear on the taskbar. I wonder what is wrong?

Well once if the taskbar has resized itself for 2 lines space, you have to readjust it back to one line manually. Unlock the taskbar and resize it to one line height. Check if that helps.

wow, two different start menus and both are crap. The logoff buttons are horrible. The start menu has no contrast between the two columns. I think it could have used more tweaking, and from actually getting the resources, this is a minor letdown...i guess. Good work nonetheless, many ppl will be happy to have it now.

Also is the scrollbar suppose to have the right side increase while scrolling down? It's kinda werid.

Nice port, I especially like the taskbar. However, I think there are certain elements that just don't look as good on Windows. Case in point--the all gray background for explorer. Ah well, great port anyways.

yah im with you there aashish. no offense kool4, but i think this albook version is pretty weird.i would suggest to fix the caption buttons(min,max,close). you could do better i think. but i didnt like this substlye from the mac but i did like the other one alot more

edit- btw also thanks for not asking me to use one of my old Objectbars but yet still include my name in it

hey aashish did u read the readme .txt

the logoff buttons are acting weird i know that .

if you want you can import and check.

i`ve used 255 0 255 color on its edges.

but it still isnt transperant.

i`ve mentioned this in the readme.txt file

and for your second question abt why my start menu has no contrast.

is it necessary to have a contrast !

this theme needs alot of work... as for the logoff buttons, use png.. you can't use transparent bitmaps for logons with some themes... i dotn really have a problem with the start menu, although it does seem that the first one is a ripoff of kol's kuantum theme... i was really anticipating someone making this port, but IMO it's not usable at all.. just my .02

yup. as much as this was anticipated and looked forward to, looks like port was rushed. Needs a lot of fixing, tweaking and cleanup. Albook is a very nice theme, it would be bad to see it wasted like this on windows. I am not dicouraging anyone's work, just saying that since you have put in so much effort, please make it even cooler so that it becomes useable practically.

Yeah kid you are right, I took your ini for starting because I had to choose one, and the old albook was the best option, but I had to change all things, you can check this one is completely different, and I didn't know if in that way you would want to be included in the credits, besides kool4 wanted to release quickly and I couldn't change the information in the ini or speak with you about that. My apologies but you can check every graphics are different than in your bar, so I thought if I had to say who was the autor of the base, the answer was crni like in your ini says, but anyway I haven't any problem with incuding you in credits, of course, kool4 can do it for free. I haven't planned to release the bar, in the beginning It was a personal skin It was a quick decision for me to release, maybe wrong because that day I haven't the time for make changes. Sorry again my friend
