Im wondering about the pro's and con's of running Virtual PC if I get a MAC G4 Powerbook 1 ghz, to run Windows XP Pro and windows applications and games. Does this work well? Well enough to run games and applications and not crash the system?
Please let me know what feedback those that have used it and good or bad results.

The G4 1GHz is a good choice, coz it has altivec processing, and that aids greatly in apps like VPC.
H O W E V E R.... however, WinXP is THE slowest OS on VPC. I'd recommend Win2K (the fastest for some reason), or Win95 (second fastest). XP is BARELY bearable.
Oh, and you can't run games on VPC. Its not fast enough for that sorta stuff.
Taha hit the nail on the head. I've tired Xp on a dual proc G4 and still performance was still bad. win2000 works well and so far i haven't had any problems with win98, although I haven't used it as much under VPC. Forget about games though.. unless you want to play solitare or minesweeper.

minesweeper.. LOL.. thats the only thing missing on a mac.
anyway, if you want, you can run RDC or VNC on your mac and use windows on the mac. Only, it will be your PC which you'll be running via your mac.. so on the road, you wont be able to do so.
donk monkey, do you have the original win2k and win98 cd's? If not, how'd you install it?
Yeah I have my original discs. ( All the way back to win 3.1 HA!!) I know you can get those OS packs but I've never used one so I'm not too sure how they work, but I've never ran into a problem using my original system disc.
