[Help] Desklets no longer connect to internet

I turned on my computer today and for some reason, my desklets that connect to internet, weather and newsreader, are no longer getting the information. They are just blank.

I've tried manually updating but it doesn't work either.

I haven't changed any of the desklet/AveDesk settings in several days or any internet settings.

I've checked my firewall and I just can't find any reason why it's not working, never had any problems with them connecting before.

I've tried rebooting several times. I've also tried restoring the desklets from backups.

If just one stopped working I could put it down to problems with the site but for two, connecting to different sites not working suggests there is some other problem. I've also been to the sites in question and they are working normally.

Has anyone else had this happen or does anyone know anything I could have changed in Windows itself to cause it?

All other internet programs are working normally.

[Edit] After trying yet more desklets, I have now discovered the problem is only affecting SysStats,

The ObjectDock dock feeder and XML Weather, which aren't SysStats based are connecting ok.

[Edit] I am now getting this error when I try to update the desklets -

Microsoft Visual C++Runtime Library Runtime Error!

C:ProgramFilesavedeskavedesk.exe

abnormal program termination

I just don't know what's going on. I've now tried re-installing SysStats and AveDesk but no luck.

Dont worrie to much the AveDesk devlopers are heavely undermanded working on patches....

Serendipityguy, I was referring to AveDesk 1.1 and posted this before 1.2 was released.

Anyway, a system restore rectified the problem.

boy , tempers are flying High around here........OH DO SHUT UP! i honesly feel that someone is way out of bounds here, I was pointing fannymites to a direction to be helpful, there is no need to get all hot headed ..............
