[HELP] Changed icons refused to show.

Hi guys, here's a problem that's been bothering me for weeks. I'm using IconPackager to change some of the system icons that i don't like. You can see that the icons are changed here:

iconpackager4zl.jpg

Now if i run Exploerer, the icons are still changed:

explorer7ro.jpg

The thing is, if i run something like Paint Shop Pro or IE and try to open or save a file, i see the original icons that i had already changed:

ie66nv.jpgpainshoppro0mv.jpg

I wonder what i'm doing wrong or if there's just something wrong with my system. I hope i've illustrated the problem well enough. If anyone can help please advise me, thank you so much !~

Find iconcache.db (hidden/system file) and delete that.

Relativity_17: I've deleted iconcache.db, however no go, the problem still persists.

I think those icons are controlled by shell32.dll - but I may be wrong, either that or the 16x16 icons aren't defined properly

They can be changed, but you have to do it from within the shell32.dll file itself, which can be a tricky endeavor if you aren't relatively experienced with system file modification.
