#252484

You know, as someone who lives in Philadelphia (well, just outside), you could really offend us by spelling the name of the city wrong.

You're lucky I'm not a football fan, otherwise you'd find the thread closed for mysterious reasons.

#252486

You have to be kidding me...you mis-spelled Philadelphia?

Christ...google it if you were confused.

Eee-Ay-Gee-Ell-Eee-Ess...EAGLES!

P.S. Contra?

I'm in Norristown.

We're nieghbors this whole time?

#252496

umm...what's with -[maoos]-, Derelikt, pwnzrzpat, and tide all voting more than once...and all for the whole list?

I see issues with the results already and less than 10 people have voted.

#252497

#252501

I want Philly to win. Actually, I want New England to lose. But they won't. :(

Are we talking about a wardrobe malfunction with Paul McCartney? Nah. Now, if it was Lindsay Lohan, I'll be all for it!

#252508

#252513

It's a multi vote poll so you should shutup. It should've been obvious with the checkboxes...

I can't wait to hear all of your reactions once the patriots get their asses kicked.

Eagles will win by 2 touchdowns...at least.

I mean, I am no football fan but here are the simple points that I think are relevant -

Eagles tried for 4 years to get to the superbowl. They finally get in and they have the most enthusiastic fan-base ever. Patriots didnt even have a pep-rally last night. Eagles fans were there in the thousands at a pep-rally withe the governor of Pennsylvania, the mayor of Philadelphia, team players, and more.

Also, Patriots are ****y after a couple of wins...they wont expect an upstart like the Eagles to win, so they'll slack off until the 4th quater when it is too late.

Eagles deserve this. If you knew the heartbreak and and the ups and downs we've suffered as a city/state, you'd understand now.

Besides...one new englander already lost this year. Time for another to fall.

#252523

If you want to see a wardrobe malfunction by Paul McCartney, you don't deserve to be here. Go kill yourself, or something.

@Duckie-- misspelled, not mis-spelled :P. It's one of the most commonly...misspelled...words of the English language.

Who cares about the game, I want to see more risquee ads!

:)

What's football? :slant:

Hey Duckie, I took all those points into consideration, but there is one thing. The thing that the Patriots have been proving for a while: they can find a way to win when they need to. They are what makes a great football team; very determined, well trained, and well disciplined. That what makes me hate them so much, because they are the ideal team I wish my team was (no, it's not the Eagles).

[edit because I got tons of facts messed up.]The Patriots is not a team based on fanfare or contreversial players. They are a team based on skill and getting the job done. One reason why it is boring to watch them. But they do get the job done.

#252541

any team that is built around a kicker can't be too exciting...

i was hoping the colts beat N.E. and then the steelers beat the colts, setting up the cross-PA super bowl... anyone has to agree, though, that this years playoffs were pretty top-notch. the bowl usually doesn't follow suit, playoffs are always better.

#252564

Patriots are really well disciplined, as wizard said. Both teams have talent, but the Patriots have the discipline.

#252579

Such a true point wookie!!!

To agree with duckie, the eagles are due, and they did put in their all this year, even though it was really only 3 players that got them there. Donovan Mcflabb...BO, and David Achies

Ugh! Falcons versus Rams! Ugh!

That's because I think that we tend to get our hopes up that every year the Super Bowl will be a spectacular event tat we would remember for a limetime. Then it sucks. But if you go back and watch a previous Super Bowl that you thought suck, you'll realise that it was a good game. We just don't really appreciate it until it settles in.

Wizard... that was a little below the belt. I'm gonna cry now...

Addressing a few points:

Phillidolphia? Oh. my. god. Dude, that doesn't even sound like Philadelphia phonetically. I could at least maybe excuse Filadelfia or Philladellphia or something like that, but how could you write Phillidolphia and think that that was even approaching the correct spelling? Wow :-p

And to address those who doubt the Eagles: The Patriots do well under the pressure of the playoffs, and they have an overall team chemistry that raises them to a somewhat higher level than most teams. But when you get down to it, Tom Brady is an okay player, but there are better quarterbacks. (E.g., McNabb). And with the Eagles, McNabb only scratches the surface of the great players, e.g., T.O., Kearse, Trotter, Dawkins, Akers, and, well, in general, the 8 or so Pro Bowlers on the team. And besides the Pro Bowlers, you also have the players who aren't really big names but invariably come up with big plays, like the wide receivers (other than T.O.), at least one of whom always has a stand-out game.

In conclusion, I am extremely whelmed about everything about the Patriots except their performance when it matters. Otherwise, the players, Tom Brady, the fans (read: those up here in New England who probably just found out in the last few days that their team is in the Super Bowl again, and, if the Patriots are to win, will celebrate like they had cared all season long, and, if the Patriots are to lose, won't even care).

#252624

#252646

Well Its a tie now. WHOOHOO. I live in Lawernce, MA so of course Patriots. :)
