Auto Shutdown iTunes

I think this has been asked before, but I couldn't seem to get an answer. I have a couple widgets using the iTunes scripting interface, and when I shutdowm my computer it takes forever because iTunes stalls before it starts the 20 second countdown to shutdown. Is there any way to disable this in iTunes so that it automatically disconnects anything and shuts down right away?

I've also heard about something called taskkill, could this be a solution to force iTunes to quit instantly when Windows does?

i think i remember hearing something about this being addressed in avedesk v1.2. or maybe it was sysstats v2.5, but i don't think so. or maybe it was the next version of avetunes.

ya know, i obviously have no idea what i'm talking about. i just remember hearing somebody say something about it.

if you quit the program thats using the scripting interface first, then itunes will close faster

Well yea i know that, but ya see, I dont want to close the widgets every time. That takes away the whole point...

Yeah I've wondered this too.........(NOT TO MENTION THAT iTUNES IS MORE OR LESS JUST A RESOURCE SUCKIN MEDIA PLAYER) so then I assume that it is also necessary to keep the Itunes Helper and Ipod Service running as well........(TO ADD TO THE C.P.U. DRAIN)!?!? I guess it surprises me how much people loooooove iTunes b/c to me it doesn't seem worth the 4X,XXX in resources that it is more than happy to take up......maybe I'm the weird one though!

it dosent' eat that much resources on mine. only 10 mb for me. and explorer uses twice as much. although i do notice itunes being slow sometimes. hope the future releases will fix that problem.

Yeah you're definitely right about that one.....EXPLORER is fat PIG indeed. It's good to hear you mention that iTunes seems a bit slow sometimes to you b/c I have noticed that a lot myself and just thought that it was just my imagination or what have you...........it does run slow on a fairly regular basis for me though.

Those two services are only necessary if you have an iPod (correct me if I'm wrong). You can shut them off in the Startup tabs of msconfig.

I'm just curious, will Multi-Plugin .6 also allow "on the fly" font changing? Having to hack executables every release gets annoying, and if I remember correctly you said you were working on this feature....

Binary - yes. and you can also choose the font, and there is no limit on the length of it's name like before.
