Mobydock Dx Help

anything works here, maybe someone can help. This post is similar to the one I made in the bugs thread, but apart from experiencing this bug, I'd like to have some help. I've installed the latest version of DirectX (9a) and Detonator Drivers (43.45) for my NVIDIA card (RIVA TNT2 with 32MB).

The dock doesn't response to any action, in example: I click on Mobydock Control Panel and nothing happens. and if I drag an app to the dock and then click on it, it doesn't do anything.

is anyone experiencing the same??

I assume you're running 32bit color depth on WinXP? Did you install the full MobyDock download package (with the DLLs)?

yes, 1024x768 res, 32 bit color depth. I downloaded the full package and made a fresh install.

Won't MobyDock work in 24bit or 16bit color depths? I'm using an i810 with DX9, but it can't give me more than 24bit

Thanks in advance

That's really strange...is this the first version of MD you ever tried? What I mean is, did you run any previous version that worked OK?

#22004

yes, I've tried several versions, my first dock ever was the first mobydock and I had no problems...

I have the same problem, but even worse... this is how the dock appears for me :

And I use the same graphic card as u.

hi,

hm. i don't really know if the TNT2 does provide all the features needed to run mobydock. it runs well on my pretty old matrox g450 at work.

if you have set up everything correctly and resetted your directx settings via control panel, i have no clue at the moment.

sorry,

moby

How do I reset the direct X settings? I have no direct X icon in my control panel...

well, thanks man, I'll continue with objectdock :( (wanted to try mobydock as everyone is talking real good about it). If someday you discover something that could work please post it or mail me or PM me.

thanks

Jose, search for dxdiag.exe and execute it.

#22040

I ran MDDX on a PCI TNT2 and its speed was OK. It looked fine though (no bad icons). The card has all the hardware support it needs, so it must be something else specific to your computer.

I have ran dxdiag.exe but I can only find info about DirectX there. Can you tell me how to reset DirectX settings?

Hi, I've got the same probleme.

Icons fade out (very clear although I set up the Alpha-Transparency to 255.

I'm running Windows XP Pro (on a Athlon XP 550MHz and 256Mo)with a NVIDIA RIVA TNT2 Ultra (32Mo) at 1152x864 with 32bit colordepth and all I can see is that:

dock.png

Like you I can't click on the Icons, (nothing happen) and the only way I have to get inside the Mobydock Control Pannel is right-clicking on the separator (you see it on the right of the Windows Media Player icon).

As for the running programs, the only interaction I have with the MobyDock is right-clicking on the green arrow undder a running program icon....

I assume it's an incompatibilité with my graphic card since running the DirextX Diag is fine. As for the NVIDIA Drivers wich is the good Detonator 43.45 Version.

Is anyone can give me a link to Download a previous version of Moby****, I'll try to test it.

Best Regards,

Tiseb

Same Problem Here

#23720

how do u install moby doc? i thought it was just and exe.

#23941

Extract the contents of the ZIP into a folder. Make sure that the folder hierarchy is kept. Then just click the mobydock.exe . No need to "install" the normal way.

I have the same visual problems as Jose and tiseb, at work here with a TNT2 card latest drivers DX9a and Windows 2000. unresponsive, I have to kill it from process's, and icons look like theirs, very bad. Anyone got a fix for TNT2 cards yet?
