[Help] Wireless Connection to powerbook

Hello, I have some question about wireless connection to powerbook.

Recently I bought linksys 2.4ghz broadband router and on the internet it seems okay to work.

However my question is after I turn on the simple file sharing on wintel machine and try to download from powerbook, it seems like it is transmitting around 100 KB data.

Is this normal? I thought the normal transmittion would be around at least 3-4 MB

This is actualy very normal.

SImple file sharing has way too much overhead and the SMB daemon in OS X well... sucks.

I have yet to get a straight answer from Apple as to why it's so slow.

If you want transfer files between a Mac and a PC, use FTP. You will be able to utilize the full bandwidth available on your network.

Go into System Preferences, select Sharing, stop Windows Sharing and start FTP Access.
