Are there any shortcuts or hotkeys or anything I can use to show/hide all my desklets at will but keep AveDesk in memory so they go off and on quickly?
I remember the was an .exe you could get for Rainlendar to toggled it on and off and you can do it with Desktop Sidebar so I just thought there might be something like it for AveDesk.
I know I can just close it and restart but I thought this would be quicker and neater.
There will be a feature do let you do that in AveDesk 1.2

Well sunb1rd. First of all this is a old thread.
Second you can search the avedesk config a litle bit.Try the setting,play with them.Maybe you will found thinks that you never now that is there.
Now what you ask is the "ShowCase".
Just open "Desklets Control Panel". Go to "Settings" -> "Global settings..."
Click to the "ShowCase" tab and enable showcase.
Now go to your desklets right click open "Properties".
Under "Appearance" tab at "Style" select the "showcase".
Now the desklet will disapear and when you click the showcase shortcut (default is F9 and F8) you will see them.

First of all, I thought I would feel more "wrath" by starting a new thread on a topic that already existed.
Originally, the feature that I wanted (and interprited toggle to mean) was something like clicking the systray icon and having avedesk disappear off the desktop (kinda like rainlendar or samurize). I knew that showcase existed and that it worked like konspose and what not-- hotkey fading in a background and popping up the widgets. Your suggestion prompted me to use the showcase in this manner, but set the background alpha to 0-- however, when I toggle, all the widgets are on top. Also, not sure if showcase mode uses more processor...
I think in the end, my desire is just too picky/specific. I'd like to have a feature that hides all of avedesk and shows it when I want to. I don't need to be fancy and draw attention to them like with "a showcase" 
Sometimes, I just like to quickly remove the clutter that is my desktop. Anyway, thx again!

Hmmm, the AveDesk shortcut isn't in a fixed area, but just as a proof-of-concept, you could overlay an invisible shortcut on it, and use the Toggle desklet so that when it's clicked it makes all the desklets disappear...

P.S: But yeah, this would only work if the invisible shortcut stayed over the AveDesk tray icon all the time, but since Windows shuffles the icons around...
I sense there is some little program being developed that could help. I don't know if it will include a tray icon, but it's not impossible.... maybe Gogu Melcu has more to say about this
well right now i'm using a work-around: just created a blank theme and saved it. i can then rightclick->themes->and pick the blank theme.
the only problem is it removes the desklets from memory so it can take a few seconds to bring them back. well, that and it'd be better with just right-clicking the tray icon and having a 'hide' function

about hotkeys: many people don't know that if you put a shortcut in the start menu, and this shortcut has an hotkey assigned (in it's properties) that hotkey is active system-wise. So there is actually no need for additional programs to handle keyboard shortcuts (but doesn't work for Win+ for example)
