[question] download manager?

i've been using getright 4.5 for years now, never had any problems with it. it does what i want. but recently i converted to firefox (ok about half a year ago...) and getright doesn't seem to be able to catch links within it, i'll go and get the mozilla plugin for it later to see if this fixes it.

but even if it doesn't, getright is all old and wrinkley now. i want something fresher and better dressed. what're you guys using these days?

or is there a plugin for firefox to give you more advanced download managment options within the browsers own download manager? i wouldn't be suprised if there was.

also, what's everyone's music player of choice? i'm still with winamp 2.x

Firefox does have a download manager plugin that supports Getright, but I seem to have lost it in the reformat I just done. And I use Leechget 2004 as my download accelerator. Music Player of choice is iTunes.

There has been a thread on this topic recently... Use the search feature... it's free!

I'm a Getright user too myself... but after being trapped in a corporate environment

only IDM (Internet Download Manager) proved to be the most hassle-free net-file-splitter

I could find. Using it with Firefox 1.0 without any problems right now.

Hope this helps. :)

feature-wise flashget suits my needs best. i'm a bit confused though because it's reported as spyware/adware by most scanners (it does display ads but not after you register it), and the interface is downright fugly.

leechget has decent interface, but it's bloated and lacks some features of flashget (batch downloading for example).

~Ivan- there is a mac skin for flashget -- look here http://va-deam.spymac.net/idisk/vl-flashge...pp-and-skin.ace
