do you get any beeps? if so, look up the beep code for your motherboard/bios and find out what it is.
do your fans spin up? how about drives? does anything turn on or start working? is the motherboard shorting out? is everything seated correctly? have you tried just running the bare essentials?
Well right now nothing but the computer and the moniter are hooked up. WHen I press the button to power up nothing happens. No fans spin, no beeps, no drives move. It's absolute silence. However, that green light on the motherboard, inside the case still stays on.
Well then theres some bad connection between the button on your case and the power supply 
Its that simple. make sure the power button wire is hooked up to the mobo, then try again.
Im 90 % sure it will work.
Could a wire be pinched between the On Switch and wherever it hooks up to?
I had a similar problem, but I randomly moved and pushed in wires to fix my problem. Hope that helps.
I'm not sure how the status indicator lights up but it sounds like a power supply problem. You might consider testing it out. For example disconnect all the power supply wires and connect a single optical drive to it and see if the drive starts spinning. If that works then gradually build it up, add the bare minimum components like motherboard, CPU, memory, and graphics card and figure out what component if any causes the problem.
I think you'll have to go into a bit more detail voltaic. I'm not sure about what you're asking me to do exactly. I'm gonna try what hobbes and gnome stated because they both seem to say the same thing.
Ford has this lovely test... it's actualy in their service manual.
It's called the wiggle test. You go through every wiring harness and connection and "wiggle" it.
Make sure everything is connected/seated properly. After that, you start plugging and unplugging one at a time. Sounds to me like something is not connected or seated properly.
Worst case scenario, when the ram came out, the board was still powered and it shorted the motherboard. Not much to do but replace the motherboard... let's hope that's not the case.
The wiggle test worked lol. The power supplier cable connecting to the motherboard was loose. So now it starts up and everything else does too but nothing's showing up on my monitor. Ahh, yet another riddle. Can anyone figure that out? And yes it's securely in it's socket.

Ok, now that you have power (fans and drives are spinning right?) it's time to check for beeps. Does the motherboard give you any signals at all like warning beeps, or happy beeps to let you know that POST was successful? If you're not getting any beeps at all the motherboard might be dead. If, on the other hand, you do hear a beep, then consult your motherboard manual and see what the beep indicates.
Considering there is no video output, the problem is most likely either the motherboard, the memory, or the video card. You just need to go through simple troubleshooting/elimination processes to figure out which component is to blame.
edit: sorry I did not mention the monitor but I guess that was too obvious; before doing any of the preceding you should of course make sure the problem is not the monitor.
try another monitor. if none work consider buying another gfx card (i would recommend the chaintech geforce 5200 pci if you don't have agp 8x and are on a tight budget. search tigerdirect.com for it.)

Well, I tried another moniter and nothing happened...still. It's not the memory because the RAM I have in now is a new stick and yes it works. I tried it on another computer to make sure. So we can eliminate the memory.

How can I do that to see whether it's the motherboard or the video card? Oh, and no there are not any beeps though it sounds like my harddrive starts up also, which I always thought made the beep sound. The CD-Rom drive works and so does the floppy, by the way, meaning they open and the LED lights work on them.
1. try the graphics card in another computer. does it work? if so, the card is fine. i doubt it's the card since you should get some beeps if the motherboard works.
2. try the cpu in another motherboard. does it work? a dead cpu will stop the pc from booting up in most cases, although sometimes the motherboard reports a "damaged cpu."
3. it's hard to say, but your motherboard might be dead. definitely try testing with various parts and see what you find.
I don't have a graphics card. Atleast none that I see connecting to the motherboard. But there's never been one connecting to the motherboard.
Ahh, chipset graphics. The cream of the crap. Perhaps theres a problem with the video controller? What chipset are you using?
