Aqua-Soft ForumsGuys, i need your help. is there a way to completely remove internet explorer and outlook express in windowsXP SP2. I just want to save some space because i used firefox and thunderbird this time.

you can remove it from there

i have done that already but i want to completely remove it in the Program Files folder and in the registry.
As far as I know you can't remove IE. Its deep in the kernel and you can't completely remove it. I have no idea about Outlook though as I don't use either of them.

I suggest you leave IE alone and not touch it, I've had bad experiences in the pass when removing IE from XP. Just use an alternative browser such as Firefox or Mozilla.

In an older PC i've had i deleted OE completely, but I was unable to delete IE because it is present in so many things on Windows, it's undeletable =/
Although, I suppose you could reformat your computer, and use nLite to remove IE and OE from the install disc. Face it, you don't really want to do that, do you

OE can be completely removed... it requires a lot of manual searching through the registry, and you must wipe it from the DLL cache and or ServicePackFilesi386 dir before you can completey remove it from Program Files.
If you do it the other way around, it will just keep popping it's ugly head up.
IE is not worth the trouble to remove. It makes your system kinda flakey and things that you think aren't related to IE actualy are. Just delete or rename the executable for IE in both the Program Files dir end the ServicePacKFiles dir and it shouldn't come back. At least until the next IE hotfix anyway.

based on the above. my decision is to uninstall ie and oe in the control panel then leave them alone.
nlite should remove it during an installation, but i must warn you. ie is used for a number of things, including windows update. your computer may not function as well if you remove it.
U shouldnt fully uninstall IE there are ways but many programs run from its architecture such as EXPLORER its self you will loose your browsing capabilities on your pc.. you could use mozzila for this but i must stress keep IE its too much hassel what are you reasons for removing it anyway ?

Unfortunately that's easier said than done.
If anything, M$ would more than likely just remove iexplore.exe and call it good.
That is of course if they ever get done with the trials and lawsuits and happen to actualy loose.
By then, web browsers will probably be obsolete.
