[preview] Soph OS 4.0 (build Gazelle)

I'm currently designing a mac os X interface with DesktopX and was hoping to get user feedback, suggestions and comments. If anyone has any ideas for widgets or functions they would like to see implemented let me know. I've tried to add all of the Dashboard mini-apps and a few others. There are a few things that are missing yet (transitions on closing widgets, menubar and a 'proper' system tray. I have ObjectDock filling that function as the dock on the bottom of the screen. In the screenshot you'll see the classic b&w system icons that act as shortcuts to system functions (ie; display properties, contral panel...).

I've tried to accurately recreate the mac interface but as i have only apple's preview shots and screenshots from other websites it may be a little off.

wow thats beautiful, i would switch up flyakiteosx2 if that works integrates into windows as much as flyakite or shouldnt i be able to blind flyakiteosx since it just replaced windows images? just a dumb question i have is does this need only desktop x to run? it seems too good to believe, and how well will integrate with flyakiteosx2?? i cant wait for this

btw... this excites me so much that i paid for object desktop so that id be able to download all the software i want to edit the look of my windows. and hopefully use ur theme wen it becomes available with desktopx

Well, Althouhg its verry nice I gotta tell you its faaaar from accurate to the real thing. The widgets are all the

wrong size (way to big) and shape. Im not sure what the URL was but Duckie has a large collection of tiger

resources in PNG with transparency, and they are 100 % accurate. I think if you PM him he will let you use

them.

Okay, so much for it being just 'a bit off', eh? thankyou sketching and hobbes for the heads up, that will help me out a lot. like i said, i haven't used the new os and had only seen it in screenshots but having said that, is accuracy wanted more over how it is now?

I'm thinking of keeping the original calendar, address book and webcam but the calculator will be updated with the correct graphics as well as the stickies. Currently threw in stardock's default post it note system as a stand in for the preview but now with the pngs, i'll be able to recreate it more accurately.

Digi: that's part of DesktopX and thankyou.

Scheming: i havent' used flyakite but i don't think there will be any major problems running this. i would get in touch with him to figure out if there would be any conflicts with that and DesktopX. Hopefully if everything plays out as expected and i can get ducky to sign off permission to use the calendar/stickie graphics i should be able to release this by the end of january.

Now to get in touch with duckie...

more dumb questions: is the bar on the bottom the same as the one in macosx? this is the most promising look and feel of osx that ive seen so im really anxious about this... also i just got to play on my friend's power book and noticed that the windows load screen that is modded by flyakiteosx is off by a lil because it doesnt show the loading circle thing (u know wut im talking about i hope). i would like to offer u any help u need to get this as close to osx as possible. email me: climardo@optonline.net
