I wanted to add ratings and other stuff to the Avetunes desklet I made some time ago. Here is the result. It is ment to act like two icones next to each other. Fits quite well on my desktop. Do with it what you will.

The square should be 50x50 not 68x62, you can change it in the skin.ini
This skin is actually pretty cool.
If I knew how to go about it (seeing as how I am not much of a developer and I don't play one on TV either), I would add some small player controls and maybe replace the iTunes logo with a slightly larger image for the cover art. (wink wink, nudge nudge)
The icon idea is great, but the image at that size is hard to see since it's so small.
It fits on the desktop very nicely, I have it set between my dock and my wifi signal meter.
I like some of the other CD cover art skins as well, but they are all mostly too big on a 1024x768 display.
All in all, great job.
I've been using White Simplicity for a while now and the second version is definitely more than welcome!! But, do you think that the iTunes icon is necessary? Great work, thanks!
I failed to mention this but it does have play|pause previous and reverse buttons. Next time I release it, I will be sure it include some better documentation. Below shows the buttons. It also shows my icon arrange ment. I would love to make the two halves of the desklet seperate so that they can be moved around.
I'll play around with different designs.
What size icons do you usually use? I want it to be about the size of icons. The ones I were using when I made this was at 50x50, hence the small size. I'll be more then happy to make different sizes and maybe different designs depending on the sizes.

say 64x64, 128,x128, etc. and/or maybe with the itunes icon and without it?
if the iTunes icon stays, would it be possible to give it the itunes context menu functionality? the iTunes could be hidded (even hidden from the system tray) and some of the same functionality would be present in the desklet.
I'm probably asking for too much, but I really like this skin.
I agree with having different options as 'heavy a' mentions, if at all possible. I change my desktop many times and it would be nice if I could use this skin all the time, only with different sizes and what-not. That's my 2 cents. Thanks Czanchez!
Hey guys I've made a similar skin as Czanchez you can see it in the attached picture. Basically the main differences are the album art is 96x96 and it only contains a play/pause button and a next track button on the upper and lower halfs of the album art. If Czanchez will allow me I will release it under the name Simple1 Im asking permission because the idea is essentially the same as Czanchez's just with a few tweaks.

Edit: Added some substyles shadow white text, shadow black text, no shadow white text, no shadow black text, shadow no text, and no shadow no text. (the shadow is on the album art not the text.) As soon as I get the go ahead from Czanchez you'll see it here for release.

I like the ideas I'm getting heavy a. I'm going to try and play around with it. What I really want to do is have a drop down menu that you can select the size. I need to mess around to see how that would be accomplished.
I'm working more towards the original, but since it will be bigger I will be able to add more stuff to it. I've been tied up a bit so I didn't have much time to play around. I'll get on it right away.
If you get something put together, I'll test it out for you.
