iTunes album art not changing when track does

I recently upgraded parts of my system and started with a fresh format of XP Pro SP2. Installed iTunes 4.7, but the album art no longer changes to reflect the currently playing track. Instead, it will display the art for the last song I played by double clicking, and will only update when I press CTRL+L to highlight the current track.

Any ideas on how to fix?

have a look at my screenshot, click on the marked zone to change it to "now playing"
