[question] re: ram, what does this mean?

i keep seeing this, just wondering what it meant... ram types, 32x8... 64x8....16x16, etc... i was going to order a 512mb chip, but it says 32x8--2 banks, this doesn't mean i'm going to get 16 pieces of 32mb ram, does it? that would be retarded. who the hell has 16 slots on their mb?

thanks

No no, that's chips on the board (single stick of RAM). Just multiply the numbers together. 32x8 = 256. 2 banks of 256 = 512.
