ObjectDock 0.90 Bugs

Two different machines:

On one machine whenever I click the questionmark to quit Objectdock, the text above the "Quit Objectdock" freezes on the screen and I get one of the "Objectdock has experienced an error and must close errors". This machine doesn't run Outlook, so I can't test for the next bug.

Second machine...Objectdock still crashes whenever I have the Objectdock taskbar enabled and close Outlook 2002.

Still persists bug with Autohide feature. I use ObjeckDock with Autohide feature positioning on the top of the screen with "always on top" option checked. When some program maximized on the screen ObjectDock not apeared when moving mouse to the top of the screen. :(

#20945

The icons get stuck in the zoomed position sometimes and then there is that persistent Ontop bug. :/

#20994

This is another annoying bug! The separator shows on the left side of the screen. I don't use taskbar, but the separator still insists on showing at the left of the screen.

I tried uploading an image to show what I meant, but I got an error no matter what format (gif, jpg, png) I tried to upload. :/

Same persists bug as Kernel::Panic !

In my case this bug started at 0.88 version and it still there with 0.90

I must be the luck one, im getting no bugs :P

Who else is getting bugs and who else is not getting any bugs?

#21027

The only bug I get with OD is a z-ordering thing that pops up every once in a while, it goes behind everything, including Samurize.

mildly annoying, but hardly the end of the world

#21034

this is the only version that has started to freeze my comp not once but many times.

everything works fine most of the time but then sometimes when i guide my mouse over to the dock and it magnifies, everything freezes. hard reboot is the only solution after that

nothing new has changed in my machine's getup, so it must be OD that's doing this.

Try to use WinKey + m, shows desktop too, but keeping OD visible.

okeidokei jeff B) .

powder r- sometimes i use windowskey + m |but thats minimize and not show desktop...|. Sometimes i need the show desktop thing... its more 'aggressive' than winkey + m.

For example, some dialog windows like...mmmm....Outlook express - Tools - Accounts | doesnt support a winkey + m. However, the winkey + d does the trick ;)

But yes...its a leg work ;) .

Thanks for sharing pal.

Hi Jeff,

I'm happy to announce you that this version works verry fine to me, no saving theme bug like 0.88. The only bug that remains from the first version is the 'Trash Full' bug. To be more specific, the trash not appears full if I move to it files from another partition / volume then C:\. But my WinXp system is on D:\ (on C:\ I have WinME). Hoping to solve this minor bug in your future version (if is possible), I appreciate so much your work and OD remain on the first place in the top of the docks.

Thanks Jeff

Oki doki, was able to fix a couple issues so far, looking into others. Would have that Outlook 2002 issue i keep hearing about fixed, except i don't have nor can i find anyone local here to test it with, but I hope to distribute a couple test copies to try and get to the source of that one.

The couple bugs i was able to fix include:

x-autohide bug, would not re-show if window was maximized and on top/left/right side of the screen

x-Background glitch when dock is semi-transparent, has no taskbar, and is aligned right/left along the top or bottom.

looking into others, thanks for the feedback everyone :) cya

Thanks for the message. Im glad your telling us of the progress, so theres no big mystery (unless you want that). Just keep chugging along jeff! Your docks already wonderful, and each bug you fix just makes it that much better. Your dock seems to be the stability king right now, and since your not planning on any radical changes (DX9), it should stay that way.

Those were the only issues I had w/ the dock, and now that they're fixed, im super happy. :D

nice to see u around jeff.

thanks guys ;) btw, think i fixed up that recycle bin problem too. New to the fix-list:

x-Recycle bin should now detect and report activity on recycle bins on *all* drives, not just the c:\ drive.

Jeff,

I'm willing to help test the Outlook2002 crash bug...since it's repreatable on my system.

Also, a wish for the Recycle bin icon...can we get a right click context menu option to just empty the bin? It's a real PITA to get the entire properties window popping up in the middle of the screen (and having to move the mouse away from the dock) when you just want to empty the bin.

Thanks for all the hard work on this...
