[Release] AVESHELL is here!!

well, Aves hell look promesing...

You got a funny typo over there.

Anyway, I think that this application has great potential and an incredibly wide range of possibilities. I do wonder if the eye candy could be just as good as the features themself...

cool thing. keep it up, guys.

Hey BetaguyGZT and/or Sketching - hows the port to AveDesk 1.2/Systats 2.5 coming? This is looking awesome but, like someone else said earlier, I'm not overly fond of Samurize. Plus, if I can run this thing with only one app (AveDesk) instead of 2 (AveDesk + Samurize) then that makes me happy...

Lookin' great - I'll be keeping an eye on this one.

Afaik, certain features which are not possible with Avedesk are being handled with Samurize. At least, that's the impression I received when I read one of BetaguyGZT's older threads on the RC1 or RC2 release if I remember correctly.

Please feel free to correct me if I am wrong, though :)

#266643

For now, BetaGuy is waiting for a few hang ups to be fixed before moving over the AveDesk/Systats. Last I heard, you couldn't launch one SysStats config from another, like in Samurize. There may be other important points to be fixed too.

BTW, the Samurize branch in officially called "AeroShell" now. :)

Coolness. :) I'll point him to this thread.

Nice app, got it installed. Works fine only had to make a few little tweaks for my system. Keep up the good work.

Thanks,

Maz

cool stuff..

but i don't know how to set it up

where can i find a tutorial about Aveshell?

#270182

Woot! When is this coming out? And what is the difference between this and avedesk?

#275814

Currently it's using Samurize. I'm SLOWLY (painfully, I know...) getting a AveDesk/SysStats prototype set up. So far, the protoype seems to do its' thing and is PRETTY to boot.

But I think in the meantime *this* will have to do.... :D I do believe everything you see there is "AquaShell" (the Aqua-like goodness that AeroShell can switch to). And better yet, it'll be one of the themes included with the latest build (now up to 1.0.9), which I plan to release TOMORROW.

It'll feature the new, fully Samurize-powered AeroExplorer, MUCH improved behavior, and a custom installer/uninstaller. I plan to have five (yes, FIVE) themes (featuring the NEW method for theme switching), and a host of other features which far surpass any build before it.

So hang on to your hats. It'll be a wild ride. :D

Any updates? I'm quite interested in this.

*BAM !!*

Have a look....

Over the last week or so I've been performing final tweaks and cleaning things up. The developers' alpha release (where I packaged it up and made it available for the dev team to test) was released almost two weeks ago. A few bugs, nothing serious. All is well and I'm almost ready for the public beta in a weeks' time.

Remember, though, that there are a few things that AveDesk nor SysStats can do just yet. Bearing that in mind, I plan to bundle a VERY stripped-down version of Litestep to handle what AveDesk cannot -- namely, taskbar and systray. I've sorted out all the z-order issues and things are right on track (as some of you may know, Litestep and AveDesk don't always play nice together...).

But it works great and aside from a couple of nags the first time its' launched, I think it's just about there.

[EDIT} As a side note, the resource usage between AveDesk and Litestep currently shows as being about 1/4 of Windows Explorer. It runs FAST (FAST fast) when running on its' own. It does require a decent video card (32 Mb nVidia or ATI cards are best), due to all the transparency. And remember that it still uses SOME components from the AeroShell fork; so expect similar configuration procedures during setup.

this looks really good im intrested

#302214

Uhh.. this is pretty old. I'm not sure, but it seems to be dead. Good job.

#302224

It's definitely not dead...the main developer just posted informing us about a new release 5 hours ago...

;)

#302228

Nice! Maybe there will be some good Mac OS X skins.

#302238

The fella to talk to about the Aqua skins is Sketching. I'm an Aero nut, he's an Aqua freak, etc etc... ;)

Seriously. I am something of an on-again/off-again lurker here. I've dabbled in Aqua, that's about it. I'm fairly sure that his work with AveShell is going to be every bit as good (probably BETTER) than the work he did with AeroShells' Aqua theme. My attempts would be pathetic and sad lol...
