help: problem with replacing shell32, Error.. modname: shlwapi.dll

AppName: explorer.exe AppVer: 6.0.2900.2135 ModName: shlwapi.dll

ModVer: 6.0.2900.2135 Offset: 0001cc69

That's the error it gives me when I try to deleve, move files/folders in the Explorer.

The 'looks' changed. that worked. but it gives me that error. Thanks

I'm using SP2 by the way. I think I changed the shell32.dll. I did it by terminating explorer in the task manager and replacing shell32 in the dllcahse and system32.

I used Stefanka's shell32 to replace it.

and where can I get other 'tweaked' shell32.dll?

Thanks for your help

did you replace anything else? does this always occur?

does the problem go away if you replace it with the original file?

I also tried to change the mydoc.dll. i don't remember the exact path name. I googled shlwapi.dll, as it turns out, it has something to do with Internet Exlorer.

Anyways, the problem is not critical. I did a system restore and the problem was fixed. The problem was, I believe, that stenfanka's shell32.dll is not compatible with my comp (for some reason, something to do with sp1, sp2 or something).

I just liked his shell32.dll very much. I tried a couple of shell32.dll and both of them gave me problems...but alas, the third one worked.

I panicked. Now I am finally breathing.

Thanks anyway.
