Another thing is the "Turn of computer" dialog box where you click "Stand by" "Turn off" and "Restart". Mine looks just like the normal xp but after a few secs, it shows up the nice looking i-mac shutdown screen.

now, you can search for a lot of emulators like aveforcequit that pretends to be task manager and quits programs like task manager, and there is also a program that emulates the restart/shutdown/logon etc diag. somehow you run it, and your normal shutdown will be replaced with a panther one. it's all at www.osx-e.com i recommend this site to your intrests. look through this site before posting any missing stuff. this site covers your question.

First off, very good work Chris. I can't wait for the upcoming mods.

As for the Office icons, yes unfortunately those didn't get replaced and I know why and it's been fixed for future versions.

Yeah those 5 files are office files. I accidently missed something in the final build and so the office files get moddified but not replaced into their correct directories.

The solution:

1) Browse to: WINDOWSFlyakiteOSXNewFiles (will be hidden by default)

2) Cut (ctrl+x) the 5 Office 2003 files in there.

3) Browse to: WINDOWSInstaller{90110409-6000-11D3-8CFE-0150048383C9} (also hidden)

4) Paste those files into that folder.

5) Rebuild your icon cache

That should fix it.

I can't install it. It just says Preparing Installation and then it just stops.

It doesn't freeze up the comp, it just grinds itself to a halt.

I use the SP1 Corp Ed'.. anyone else having trouble? How long should it take?

I highly doubt that's the problem. More than likely it stops on "Creating System Restore Point". An external program is used to create the restore point, and it creates a popup when it's successful. You were probably doing other things as well and the pop-up was hidden under a window. It should show in the Windows taskbar or using Alt+Tab it should come up.

I'm fixing the focus issue for the next version.

I'm trying to uninstall FlyakiteOSX, but the uninstall didn't quite fix the shell icons (one or two are left over, like My Music is OSX but My Pictures is Windows). Will FlyakiteXP fix this issue, as the OSX installer deleted itself (as an option)?

Can a link for FlyakiteXP be provided?

I second this request. I think there something fishy with my files cuz i can't intstall FlyakiteOSX and the pop up you mentioned Flyakite, pressed it after that nothing. Any way i can show what my comp is doing during the install?

Hey, I'm also wondering, chris said that he'd be releasing seperate packs for FlyaOSX such as ones for Microsoft Office etc, and I'm wondering if that is still going to happen... Has anyone heard from him regarding this.

I do have one question...

I've noticed on my laptop and desktop that after installing FlyakiteOSX, the add/remove programs dialog is automatically stretched to the full width of my primary display, but the height stays the same as the default size. It's nothing huge; just a minor annoyance.

I have also noticed that after uninstalling, some system files remain. Is there a way to fix this, or should I just save all the backup files in the WindowsFlyakiteOSX directory to a CD or something and restore them manually, or what..?

Thank you for the Office Icon fix. That worked like a charm.

Is there any to keep the font change but fix the issues that seem to come with it? For example, when making modifications or configuration changes within Windows, the words all fit within the necessary buttons, i.e OK, Cancel, Apply. But, when you install something new, the only word that fits completely in it's button is Next. Every other word is missing either it's last one or two letters, i.e. Cance, Bac, Fini, etc. I truly do not want to go back to the ugly default Windows Shell Font, so I can live with the missing letters, but it does mess up any input boxes or bars within IE as well as widens the Control Panel as mentioned above.

Please don't take this as a complaint because your work is truly magnificent. I have reformatted and gone without Windowblinds because of your wonderful work. So please don't chew me out for asking. I did search the entire thread.

Also, I noticed that when starting up, if I don't log in it reverts to your FlyakiteOSX screensaver instead of the default Windows Screensaver, but I noticed it said FlyakiteOSX 2 instead of FlyakiteOSX 1. Is that meant to be or a typo? And is it possible to choose that as my own screen saver instead of the Flurry?

@Laurence: to answer one of your questions... if you want to use the FlyakiteOSX screensaver just choose the screensaver named "Windows XP".
