Aqua-Soft ForumsIm not sure why, but internet explorer all of the sudden stopped showing banners, and pogo.com wont let me play any games... I didn't install any popup blockers or anything. Ive tried everything short of reinstalling windows, i uninstalled ie6, and reinstalled it from microsoft.com, anyone have any suggestions b4 i nuke the hard drive?

a firewall maybe? zone alarm can be set to block pop ups.
The only firewall that I have came w/ our Linksys Wireless G/4 Port Router, now that you mention it, it did happen right after we got that (less than a week) but i dont think it is, because all of our other computers can get on, and see the popups/banners.
Help?!
My brother had this same problem here's what you do to get out of the mess:
1. Run a program like Ad-Aware that will get rid of all the adware that has been installed on your computer, because of security, some sites won't let you access them with all that crap on your hard drive.
2. Check if you have Norton Internet Security or another firewall set up, (I realize you've done this but its a step)
3. Go to your internet explorer setting and lower the security back to default levels.
4. Install the newest version of Sun Java or Microsoft VM, personally I like Sun but thats my opinion.
5. If it still doesn't work for you, run your computer through http://www.pcpitstop.com and a recommendation can probably be made.

it was because of kazaa lite. it has built in ad stoppers to stop the ads in kazaa, but they added like 100 other sites including doubleclick, which is what pogo makes you use to access the games. if anyone else has this problem you can fix it by going to c:\windows\system32\drivers\HOSTS and deleting the entries for the sites you want to be able to see.
