i didnt notice this before, and i dont think i had this problem before either
every window i open up gives a weird white shadow to the right side of the window or application :slant:
dont know if its my desktop or monitor, coz ive tried changing refresh rates and things like that but cant figure out whats causing the problem

Of course, that's a maybe. I figure if it doesn't show up in a screenshot, then it more has something to do with the monitor itself. Do you have a warranty on it, or an extra monitor? Try hooking up your computer to either the extra monitor, or a TV (if you have the cables and right TV), and see if you still get that shadow thing.

yup. i don't see it in the picture, so i'm guessing it's the monitor.

Don't forget, it could also be a bad video card. Make sure you try a different monitor and a different video card if possible to eliminate the issue.
i have that problem at home. it appears to be a bad monitor.

yea i think the problem is my monitor unfortunately
ive tested all the components...
but after i reconnected my monitor the problems seems to have greatly reduced, now i can only see that shadow thing if i look really closely and carefully and its more visible on certain backgrounds
and the shadow thing im talking abt isnt just some y'z shadow type kinda thing, it stetches across the whole monitor from any given window 
I get something similar with my Sony HMD-A200 monitor. Both sides of the window are BARELY darker than the rest of the desktop, but it's easy to notice when moving the window slowly up and down the screen.
once i got a simaler problem which was my graphics card. it was like 4x antialising that was 10 pixels off for each diffrent "subpixel" . monitor and graphics cause problems that other can't see in your screenshots.
Get yourself a shielded video cable. What you are seeing is ghosting caused by signals messing up in the cable. A shielded cable will have a 'block' in each end near the connector, and shouldn't be too expensive. I used to have the exact same problem and sorted it instantly by putting a decent cable in
