well from what i know Danimator is working on the iChat skin and that lazy as$ Bz is not using Trill anymore
I think trillian have one of the more powerful skin possibilities and would be greater if anyone makes it look like Adium...

that was already answered in adium forums.
they can't simply re-build for windows since it uses cocoa.
it need a complete rewrite of the program.
since it uses libgmail what can be used on windows , i think it's posible.
from what i know they said there`s NO WAY IN HELL they want to port it to windows
i'v been thinking all along that we need a adium x theme for trillian, it might look much nicer then a miranda mod since it has skin suport and can be shadowed. lets make this happen.
Yes that would be great. Trillian is the best client and with an adium skin it would definitely kick ass. This sould even be a better application than Adium since I ve heard there were some issues with adium. For instance, the files transfers do not work that much
i dont think its possible to let the trillian contact list be the same like audium. but let us wait an see.
I have issues with file transfers from my roommate who has ichat (I have trillian). It works perfect with MSN, but AIM has issues.
Uh..ew2x4 I don't know if you posted in the wrong thread or not, that was just kinda not what we were discussing. Not trying to act all modlike here
Anyway, I think an Adium-like skin for Trillian would be excellent, even though it seems quite difficult to pull this one off. We'll see though.

I was just commenting on what someone else said about Adium having connection problems. But to remain on topic, I do agree this should be made for Trillian. What an addition.
if AdiumX was a shareware app, there would be a chance that it could be ported to Windows (just like what they've done with Konfab) to get more users and more cash. But as you guys all know, it's a free chat client so they won't rewrite the whole program just for fun :slant: :slant:
However, I do hope that someone makes an Adium skin for Trillian or whatever he/she wants or even writes an Adium clone :P (look at what Ave's done with Avedesk, it's a good example)

I rarely post here and I hate to burst someone's bubble, but I don't know why people think Trillian can be like Adium after seeing it's skinning capabilities. We wouldn't be talking about skinning anymore but hacking, or perhaps the use of a plugin, coding would play a bigger role then skinning anyways. Closest IM client to it right now is Miranda, or Pandium. The way I see it (and I think everyone else sees it too)
Miranda - integrates best with windows styles so transparency support works best as well
(but could still use improvement, no offense to those who made it happen so far)
Pandion - Nice customazible CSS styles for messaging
(client itself is the worst out of all three, skinning the contact list isn't great either, least favored candidate if you ask me)
Trillian - Most advanced client but doesn't seem very interested in copying Adium
(so skins/styles like Adium has will be hardest to make for it too)
To sum it up, having a client that looks or functions like Adium does wouldn't seem impossible to me. But you'd have to start making your own client, our hope for one of these clients to start trying to be like Adium. I really like Adium too but so far it doesn't really seem like a client like Adium is close. Right now I have the best hopes for miranda, since there's still development in the client, it's stable and they seem to listen to their crowd more. If someone were to take on this challenge it would be awesome though ....

Hehehhe....have you ever tried to check my iChat smilies for Miranda? They are included in Glossy Milk GUIKit, released here a couple of days ago.
File transfers work perfectly for MSN and Yahoo.
And Miranda has 'other functions' lol. It has so many of them that it's difficult for me to imagine what functions you were thinking of
And IMHO Zhi Luang was right - Pandion and Miranda give you biggest possibilities. Even if there's a will, the way may be very difficult - take a look at Genie effect - we all want this, don't we? But it all comes down to coding all this stuff and you can rarely see good programmers around...

iThink like pe8er , i like miranda's minimal interface and file transfers perfectly work for me (10 files transferred (incoming and outoing) , many things can be done with plugins .
and miranda & pandion are free !!
trillian is good to look like ichat.
