Aqua-Soft ForumsHi, i was wondering if it was possible to mount a .iso like a .dmg is mounted in OS 10.3? Would you need a special program to do it?

.Iso's in Mac osx?
well in linux you can just use the mount command and since linux is based on unix i bet the same applies in mac os x.
I know Roxio Toast can mount an ISO in OS X.
Not sure of any other programs. There may be others, but I haven't researched it.
Just double-click it and it mounts.
OS X can mount:
.dmg
.iso
.toast
.smi
.sparseimage
natively (ie without extra software). There may be other extensions I've missed.
@Ludge... you're right. I almost forgot about that.
I had a few iso's that wouldn't mount, but when I loaded them with Toast, they would... weird.
Anyway, I've used Toast since then for all my iso's.
I didn't know that it would mount .toast files without Toast being installed.

I'm pretty sure that a .toast file is actually just a renamed .iso. Can't remember where I got that from though so it's probably not a good idea to quote me.
