1) Why not wait until you have some content to display at all? It's annoying to visit a site whois primairy content is "New site design".
2) remove the serial fade ins, very annoying.
3) in the title bar, the reflection of the word "hobbes" is distracting, mainly because I read "hoppes" everytime.
4) the frame (not a html frame) with the content is very small against the blue background.
5) if you want to make a professional impression, try to use a spellchecker
.
I don't like flash-sites, except those, which are making me say: "Wow!.. H... How?! ... Wow!".
So, I think, in your case, it would be better to use common html.
PS Links under Links section are un-clickable, and even un-copyable.
I don't really like the slow fade in effects...especially each one after the next. Also it is tiring seeing loading 45235203502305 times :slant:. And I still think the older older design is best ![]()
It probably took to long becaue perhaps Hobbes was learning flash, which by the way is a very challanging tool.
at any rate, I am sure that there is much work to be done, becasue when it comes to style, design & art we are never happy, (thank god for deadlines), we would tend to allow these type of projects consume us and pull all of our time, yes indeed and these web-redesign can do that.
I like the look and feel of the graphics (header), which compliment the site and every thing just felt smooth.
the timing of the flash was a tad to much, perhaps if you were to create more of a dynamic enviroment, or load external clips, to enhace the time load. use the load text and format that for your links.
the movie is to large, want to get it down to at least 30 - 40 then loop the rest in, but dont give up, keep trying.
I like the clean look and feel.
It looks good, i like the drop shadows, but I do think you could achieve the same effect with html / css. The fade ins only are annoying, since you need to wait until you can see the content. Plus it took me about 30 seconds to load on my cable modem, imagine how long it will take for dialupers. ![]()
I think you should redo it without flash, and make the header more interesting, add some scanlines, fade some parts out, add a highlight, something ike that.
very nice.
I think it has a nice flow to it, and the shadow's are kickin! The loading thingy is that just for show? or does that really mean loading?
