Aqua-Soft Skin

Well I've set the the Aqua-Soft skin up as the default skin. I've also disabled the Simple skin for the time being, it may or may not come back.

The skin is still unfinished, but its at a very usable state. So now is the time to start finding the areas that still need to be skinned and fix some of the bugs for some users.

Suggestions and Feedback is still wanted, so tell us everything you guys like/dislike anything.

Keep this thread on topic and make sure anything you report on hasn't been reported before. And just to say it again, the skin is a WORK IN PROGRESS. So finding bugs is a good thing lol. Just report them!

Thanks, and enjoy the skin.

nice.. good job

Wow! Love the new skin... Only one question. Is it possible to have the lights not animate at the top of the bar? I can more than understand if this is not worth changing. Thanks for the hard work!

Its only till christmas :P, you don't love your lights, we put alot of work into getting those lights up this year.

Is it just me or do the glyphs not animate? They only animate in gnome's post. And yes, I've flushed my cache.

They are not safari friendly.

Woaw! That's awesome, great skin!

Congratulations.

I have a first bug to report.

On the "change your avatar page", the text goes beyond the limit of the box.

One or two more bugs to notice:

The number of messages posted does not appear any more...

The name of the last person who posted in a thread does not appear any more

Actually I've just checked and I think most of the bugs are located in the control panel, User CP, options and settings.

Otherwise, the skin is great in every aspect!! :)

;) Mebe add a drop shadow.

Also mebe there should be different skins for different Mac Themes :D

/me votes for Lutetium

#238755

about the shadows, Kols site (and probalby a crap more) have kind of the same set up with shadows on both sides. i think that would look really nice here.

take a look at studiotwentyeight (aka kol's site) to see what i mean.here

#238758

yes, timan's been given the shadow suggestion repeatedly. i'm sure he's either working on it, or not...

#238759

Guys keep in mind, the width of the page is dynamic, we can't have shadows like on kol's site, it doesn't work that way, plus shadows are just more images that do nothing :P. Safari has shadows :P

Looks Great... much better than the vbulletin default mod that we had up for a while. Great work guys :D

#238772

Oh... thanks for the Christmas Gift!!! Just two bugs...

In the edit post window, even though the Firefox window is resized to fit the very top bar, it doesn't work for the text bars.

Transparency didn't work in the screenshots thread, but that might have been people not using PNGs. If transparency works in the above picture, disregard this bug.

(now what can I give in return....)

My only botherment is that the ads at the bottom are back.

#238778

Did they ever leave? I'm assuming that they help support Aqua-Soft and if not, are simply part of our wonderful board program. I don't mind them since I never scroll down that far.

Noticed that we just got rid of post counts as well... poor castroman. :P

#238780

Good work ;)

It suffers no bugs at this moment under safari...

#238781

That textbox bug is only for a few users, and its not effecting me so I can't fix it. Its either a theme/font issue.

I'm not bothered by them being there- it's just one more server to wait for and one ome thing to slowly load...

#238790

just a tiny bit off topic:

not that i endorse not supporting the fine sponsors, but...

firefox with adblock ;)

but, i feel that without ads, the site would be operating at a loss and then we'd have to pay-to-play. click on an ad once in a while, keep a-s alive!

Found out the problem behind the textbox error... it's Firefox's Ctrl-Scrollwheel resize function. Either I can have small text and a perfect box, or normal text with a huge box. Just some info for other members looking for a solution.

(Timan, no need to fix it :D)

There is one big request though... the report post function. That is something we need back.

EDIT: Found them... me be's blind!

#238796

sad to say everyone blocks google lol.

This is the last year they'll be up, its not work the space at the bottom of the page.

well, that's not really the problem, per se. that's just a band-aid. the font-to-textboxsize ratio stays the same even if you shrink it down. it's that ratio that needs to be addressed. and i'm pretty sure timmy's right: it's a font/theme/skin thing.

edit: i just checked a-s about a zillion different ways, and the only time i get the elongated text boxes is in firefox on a pc. textbox is fine on pc in ie and on a mac in safari, camino and firefox.

on a semi-related note: not that anyone would ever view a-s on a mac using ie,, but s'funky fo sure!

#238800

I never noticed the ads before b/c I've never scrolled that far down. :P

Oh and please fix :P so that if you type :P or :P it will give you :P!

#238810

i like the aqua edit, quote, reply buttons better. but thats just my personal prefrence.
