Using IDE & SATA on Asus K8V-X mobo

Yesterday I bought an AMD 64 2800 with Asus K8V-X motherboard.I also bought Seagate 120 GB sata hard disk..I installed XP on sata hard disk without any problem.The Windows in running fine

But when I connected my old IDE (or ATA ) 15 GB IBM hard disk , (which has no OS installed...and is used by me as data backup ) my system won't boot up..It even stopped detecting Sata hard disk..When I checked BIOS there is no info about Sata hard disk ..neither in MAIN menu nor in "boot priority list" .But the moment I remove this IDE hdd ..and start pc the system runs fine..(ie windows starts without any problem.) Here on checking in BIOS we can see info about SATA hdd in "boot priority list" ...

Can anyone help me...?? I will be very greatfull..

The motherboard might be configured (or built) in a way that only allows one type of drive to be installed at once.
