How to edit tray icons ?

Hello,

I've been browsing Aqua-Soft for a few months now, but I just registered on the forums yesterday. I'm looking for a clean but effective way to edit winxp's systray icons. I don't want to use some heavy programm, therefore I was wondering how did you edit your tray icons ?

I'm not really a "startup programm" fan neither background running tasks, so any alternative?

Well the only "light" option is to change the program's tray icon to something different with e.g. Resource hacker.

The icon is usually in the .exe, but can be in any of the .dll's or similar files that the app use.

U're right: edit doesn't equal change.

I finally used resHack for some icons,... very powerful tool. thanks!

But it may cause some errors with programms like AVG or Giant AS.
