[help] Glitch With G3 Blue & White

This is truly interesting...

I have a PowerMac G3 Blue & White 350 MHz with 512 PC100 RAM and a 6GB Maxtor HD (along with a 4GB Quantum as a slave sometimes). When I tried to install Mac OS X, I had it do a clean install, wiping the hard drives, but it failed to finish the install for varying reasons (Asian Language Support once, Essentials another, etc.). At this point, I decided to try Yellow Dog Linux 4.0 because I lost my OS 9.2 when I wiped the hard drives, but it fails too about 1/3 through the install stating that the problem could be the media (flawed copy), the hard drive (not enough space), or the hardware. The CD's are fine and there is enough space on the hard drive (it also still has a valid Apple bootstrap if that helps anyone), leaving hardware issues as the only possibility.

Does anyone have a clue on how to resolve this issue? My computer, as of now, is scrap without an OS, unfortunately.

I guess I could try to mooch while at it... does anyone have a spare HD lying around (internal, Firewire, USB, or SCSI)? I don't mind how it's formated or what data is on it, so long as it has 10GB plus.

Thanks!!!

Borrow an external hard drive and give it a go.
