[ann] - Entbloess - Expose Clone in trouble

Some of you may already know this but Entbloess is on the precipice of being discontinued, if not already resigned to do so.

This is quite tragic news as this has been, in my opinion, one of the best expose clones available. And the price tag of around $8.00 was a steal.

The best part of the program was it's stability. I began to include it as a core feature of my OS, as dependable is my YzDock.

There was an update from 2.7 ~ 2.8 that was slated to be released a few days ago which would have brought greater stability, requested useability features and themes which would have allowed people to create custom skins... etc. Unfortunately, this update's release has been scratched, though maybe not entirely (what I've gathered from reading through entbloess's forum)

I just wanted to inform the folks here at aquasoft, for those who might be inspired to promote the program out of it's dispaired state, celebrate a good run on a key facet of reaching, ever closer, that true aqua/mac environment, and/or be introduced to a good program which still can be purchased for a great price.

Truly entbloess did not get the recognition it deserved.

Mmm, thanks for the news...that's really a shame. It truly was one of the better Expose clones out.

Good news, shane is going to release an update, although not as feature rich as originally intended, it will include bug fixes.. etc.. should become available in a couple of days according to his post in the above listed link.

I've been curious... who here has tried entbloess (2.7)? Anyone care to give mention?

I'm running 2.7 and its been flawless so far. That is why this is such a shame.

Very fast and low resource use (you don't even realise its their) and the functionality between my Mac's Expose and this are identical.

They are set up the same so either showing desktop or all windows etc is done with exactly the same hotspots. It just works

I could never get it to work... it loaded... but nothing every happened...no error messages.... nothing... I think i might have beeped... but not sure...

when it loaded, did you see an icon appear for it in your systray?

I believe entbloess comes defaulted to only be activated with hot-keys, you would then need to enable corner-activation etc.. through the settings window.

its rubbish, i need a windows exopse that shows all opened files in one app, such as illustrator, mac does it, so why can't windows...

No its not rubbish, you just don't understand how MDI windows work.

The Mac doesn't use child/parent windows natively in the same way so it won't have the inheirent problems windows causes Entbloess.

The way the mac handles it is like the whole desktop is the MDI parent window instead of it being in a container window. Having a menubar at the top of the desktop allows this. Which BTW, is possible on windows with things like objectbar as I have seen with a text edit program released here a while back.

i just downloaded Entbloess and HOLY CRAP it's pretty awesome...

it's too bad i didnt buy it sooner...

such a shame it's being discontinued..
