i have been offered some work that requires autocad (or some sort of cad program). is there any such program for osx?
[Question]a program like autocad for osx?
y'mean a 3D modelling app? :S
something like this: http://www.ilexsoft.com/highdesign/index.html
does anybody know anything about this? can it export to a format autocad can read? i need to be able to export it to an autocad format as my employeer has a pc with autocad...
guess ther´s no program on osx comparable to autocad - if ur usin osx go for vector works - export data and try to convert it for autocad..........but nothin real than autocad ...some tried to emulate with virtual pc and it works ok on a g4........best choice .....i´ve both workin ........autocad and vector works on pc and vw on osx ---
i'm friendly with an os x based architect who uses a massive CAD app, i'll ask him. but your best bet for starters is versiontracker or macupdate.
ArchiCAD. But i hear its not nearly as good.
My fiancee is an industrial designer and uses autocad and other 3d modelling programs... Not only is archiCAD below par the windows version of AutoCAD, but other 3d rendering apps as well (maya, poser, solidthinking)
looked at it again:
ok with vw it´s really easy: file -export -dxf-dwg and ur done - open it with autocad ....
just tried it and if ur working proper with ur layers its getting all ok
but nevertheless: autocad is for constructing things .....vw is for drawing nice plans
cinema 4d works good with vw as does 3dmax with autocad ........
well here is what i am going to be doing with whatever program i use: 2d drawings of some simple construction plans. i doubt i will ever need to do anything in 3d, so programs like maya and 3dmax arent really important to me. by the way, do you guys know anything about the highdesign that i mentioned earlier?
thanks for all the suggestions...i will look into these programs...
