was just looking at some of the new longhorn themes and one of them turned active desktop on and now i can't seem to turn it off.
the worst thing is i know it's just a little tick box somewhere, but i just just can't find it. anyone know where?
but while it's here, i've been trying to get a webpage to display on my desktop, but i can't seem to get that to work either. anyone know how?
but yeh. how do i get my wallpaper back 
Welcome to Aqua-Soft! I would like to congratulate you for putting this in one of the two appropriate forums (the other being the Windows forum). In the future, please realize that you should link your images if they are larger than 500x375. Also, a [help] tag would be nice, but we clearly get the intention of this post with your current title.
Go to Properties > Desktop > Customize Desktop > Web and uncheck anything that is checked. Active Desktop is always on in XP, but you can disable content.

just tried editing the thread name, but doesn't seem like it actually changes in the forum.
followed your instructions and i found that there wasn't thing ticked there anyway. any other ideas?
nevermind. as with many things in windows, a reboot solved the problem.
