Pop3 Mail Checker?

Well I feel like a kid in a candy store now...have just started using AveDesk yesterday, and have spent lots of time reading, playing, and searching (note the searching part :P ).

I can't seem to find a pop3 e-mail checker for avedesk, and before I gave up, I wanted to check to make sure I wasn't missing something. I know you can use the "Mail Notifier" desklet/docklet to check main in an open e-mail program, but I'm looking for a desklet/docklet that will check for e-mail without the app always being open.

I know I always used the "Mail Notifier" docklet from Yz Dock, and it worked really well, but it doesn't seem to work in AveDesk...

Does anyone know of a pop3 using Mail Checker? Thanks :)

how about this http://www.wincustomize.com/skins.asp?library=29&SkinID=2170

it's a objectdock docklet which is also created by AndreasV, the creator of Avedesk. Keep in mind that Avedesk can use Objectdock's docklets.

Oh right...I didn't even think to check Object Dock's docklets...thanks for the help, I will check this out and post my results here for others to see...

Thanks for the suggestion duyvan. I checked out the link and the docklet worked fairly well. As I suggested in the avedesk requests thread which was shut-down, I just think that there is a big room for improvement on this one. Don't get me wrong; I really appreciate that Andreas took the time to create this docklet, I just think that there are a few problems with it that could be finished. I applied it, but it crashed upon startup at first. After reinstalling 2 times, I got it going, but then found that there was no successful way to change the mailcheck interval. As well, I was unable to use my own image for the docklet because it seemed to lock into one size..

Anyway, I should have explained myself in the other forum...I just think that for a docklet/desklet that so many people will use, there could be one that was more polished/complete.

Those are just my thoughts, but thanks for taking the time to give me some direction :)

okay, there is actually another way to have a POP3 mail checker by using samurize. Have a look here www.samurize.com it is fully customizable (you can set the mailcheck interval, image for the widget....) just give it a try, if you have any question, contact me on MSN.

Good luck

Actually, I used to use Samurize, but like AveDesk a lot better...:)

My hope is that this little pop3 e-mail feature gets more attention in the future, that's all.
