Mac like effects in forums and Width/Height

Hey,

I was wondering if it was possible to have a mac like window popup like in OSX for vBulletin. by window popup i mean like if there page cannot be found, the little window will slide out in safari as an example. also since im talking about Vbulletin, how do i make it so the board view is really skinny like A-S's i need to make it so it is pretty compact and not as wide and it can show more background.

thanks,

Pops

well thats sorta what i mean, but i mean like the genie effects used when an error message pops out of safari or IE, etc. (note: not the dock genie effect, as it is copyrighted now)

so you know of it?

Mahalis is working on a sheet effect that uses javascript similar to the sheet effect when you get a loading error in Safari or a save sheet.

i think this is what your talking about.

i've done it before, to look just like a mac drop-in window. you just need to tweak it to get it to start at the top of the window.

the demo is set to drop on page load.

but you can assign a button to show/hide this as well.

ooh thats exactly what i want, i will also be looking for mahalis' JS as well

thanks!

...people can't make that work in vb and c++ and you want it in a webpage?? BTW, all those effects will completly kill your bandwidth. As for dialup users, it'll take a couple minutes to load each effect. I don't think this is a smart choice.

Yeah, the Panther effect is pretty much non-doable, but Jaguar's slide-down effect can be made to look pretty good and (in my current version) uses only about 10K of bandwidth - less than a quarter-second load time on a decent dialup connection.

And Mahalis's integrates w/ his Aqua button script (w/ new pulsing effect :D)

#234208

ooh i remember downloading that button pulser thingy, it was cool!

#234224

? He hasn't started coding the pulsing effect yet because the script he has now doesn't work with animated gifs. :S
