Aqua-Soft ForumsDoes anyone know of any good, free video players, that will play most of the popular formats (Windows Media, Real Media, Quicktime)? It's just that it seems silly and long-winded having to switch between different programs if I want to view different formats, and I've recently been having trouble with both Quicktime Player and RealPlayer. Any help is appreciated. Thanks! 
Multiple Format Video Player
Quicktime and Real use their own codecs, so you have to use QT & Real alternative. I also suggest you try Media Player Classic. It looks like WMP classic, but it has tons of features.
You should also install ffdshow, it's a filter that supports many codecs; XviD, all DivX versions, MS WMV, MPEG-1 and MPEG-2.
Don't install any of those codec packages, they're all ****ty and with some luck will mess up your system.
Really? Surely there must be a program that can play most, if not all of them? RealPlayer can play Quicktime (.mov) files, but it doesn't work for me :slant:
If there is one, i haven't seen it.
Edit. MPC does support all formats IF you have all the necessary codecs installed.
i use VLC (video lan client) and i dont know if it support quicktime
Try zoom player. It supports almost everything, including 3gp, aac, ac3, albw, ape, asf, asx, avi, avs, b4s, cda, dat, divx, dts, flac, ifo, m1v, m2v, m3u, mid, mka, mkv, mov, mp3, mp4, mpa, mpc, mpg, mpeg, ofr, ogm, ogg, part, pls, ra, rm, ram, rmvb, rv, swf, vob, ts, vp6, wav, wm, wma, wmv, wpl, xvid, zpl.
I bet that 60% of extensions listed above is fraud, but it looks impressive nonetheless 
One bad thing about zoomplayer: you can't reshack its exe, it's somehow compressed :slant:

Damn, ZoomPlayer is pretty good. Seems to do just about everything I need it to do. It seem to freeze for a while when I try to open a .mov file though. Anyone know what that's all about? :/
