Problem changing icons in the "open" dialog box

Greetings,

I am having trouble changing the icons in some of my dialog boxes in WinXP, specifically the "open" dialog box. There are the large icons along the left side like "My Computer", etc. I can change all of these but for some reason the "Desktop" icon will not change, it just stays as the old ugly Windows default. Also although I have changes the icon for folders on my system (via IconPackager) in the open dialog box all of the folders are still showing up as the default.

Any assistance would be very appreciated,

there are icons that IP just can`t change.

and i also think it`s "program dependable" - some programs use icons from system files directly, bypassing the changed icons

The desktop icon is in shell32.dll. You need an app like reshacker or

restorator to change it

Alright, thanks for the info. I had hoped I wouldn't have to mess with my shell32.dll, oh well.
