[Help] Performance counter and more...

Hello,

I seek you enlightened aquasoftian's for help.

My Windows XP Pro SP2 recently felt for dropping it's "Network Interface" counter from the performance monitor. And I use it together with Samurize to display bytes transferred and received/sec. I've searched google but haven't found anything on this particular problem. So does anyone know where this little counter could've gone?

Second question, in my systemtray when I start up windows the LAN icon is displayed... but when I hover over it with my mouse it disappears. I've got it set to "Show icon when connected...." and the icon is not hidden when I click on the hidden button to show hidden system tray icons. What's going on with that?

Peace,

Peter

did you disable performance counters? i don't know if it's related, but you could try run > diskperf -y. that will turn on counters.

as for the second question, does the icon disappear completely?

Nope haven't disabled perfmon counters... still tried what you said and the output I got was that they're enabled.. thing is... all the other usual perfmon counters are there like "Processor" and so on.. the only one that's missing is "Network Interface" and it's kinda weird cuz I had it there just the other day and I haven't done anything in particular to make it disappear...

The icon disappears completely when I hover the mouse cursor over it yes..

I had that once - reinstalling / upgrading the network card drivers did fix the problem.

Fixed what problem? :) Perfmon counters or icon disappearing or both? :)

I've had similar problem. Thing is I had cpu, ram, network meter disabled, not only in samurize but also in kapsules avedesk and Konfabulator. Only rainmeter worked flawlessly. I'm thinking rainmeter's way of detecting these moniter setting is different than the others. Ended up using rainmeter. ;)
