Pop3 Mail Checkers?

Ive tried a few of these with Avedesk but none seem to be in development or work well.

CheckMail MPIA fails on password so simply gets an error.

Mail Check 2 works OK but there is no way that I can find to alter the frequency of checking. Its far too frequent at the moment

Anyone know of any other pop3 mail checkers for avedesk.. or for that matter any stand alone ones that will fit in with avedesk desktop icon look?

As far as I can tell its not pop3 standalone?

It seems to requires that I run my mail client first to get my mail then it will tell me how many mails I have?
