Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger By Hobbes

Well ladies and gentelmen, after long houres of

miserable work I bring you the most acurate replicate

of the Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger window style up to date.

Ive noticed that fewer and fewer people are really

using aqua things here so I thought maybe it was

becuase of the lack of choices as far as real aqua

visual styles go. I just thought it would be nice if

you all had an exact clone of OSX's style. If people

are interested It would be nice for someone to

make a port to windowblinds. (hint hint, bzeitler :P)

OSX Style Window Borders

The window borders have the apearance of being

0 pixel. They are however 1 pixel wide (almst invisible).

This allows you to have the same slick look as on

Mac OS and keep the ability to resize windows.

It also lets you avoid the minor bugs that will

happen on visual styles that have true 0 pixel borders.

Accurate Window Glyphs

The glyphs are an exact replicate of the ones found

in Mac OS X. They feature mouse over and mouse

down states, all 1:1 of course.

Pixelperfect Rippled scrollbars

The scrollbars have the popular rippled effect that

can be found in Mac OS X. Although it is currently

impossible to have the scrollbar animation from

OSX on windows without using a third party app

this gives a nice touch to the overall look and feel

of the visual style.

1:1 Mac OS X Window Shadows

Because of the window borders on this theme

you should use a program to apply shadows to

your windows. I included YzShadow with a pre

made config that will give you an exact replicate

of the shadows you find in Tiger.

Mac OS X Cursors

The pack includes a few cursors converted from

osx that give a verry nice touch to complete your

aqua desktop.

Wallpapers

I also added all the default wallpapers that ship

with Mac OS X. Included are the forest, abstract,

flow, cosmos, and city wallpaper sets.

User Icons

These are also extracted strait from OSX. You can

use them on your logon screen or as avatars and

buddy icons.

More Macish Fonts

Please please please install the fonts included

with this visual style. You have to install them

before applying it. If you dont, the VS will look

VERRY screwed up. Even if you already have

some of the ones included please use the ones

I provided because alot of these macish fonts

around are different and I cant be sure which

ones you have.

msstyles do not support left-sided close, max, min glyphs but with windowblinds you can download KoL's Tiger for WB from www.studiotwentyeight.com ;)

Finally, someone made an Mac OS X visual style that has buttons that doesn't turn blue when you hover over it, and uses the original fonts. I think I will use this later...

Looks good, however here is my critique without even using it:

There's no need to include the wallpapers, etc. Those are available all over the net, not to mention they aren't part of the visual style at all, and the wallpapers alone is what makes the pack 30+ MB.

Why in the world did you include so many fonts? Does your visual style use ALL of those fonts?

Why did you include Y'z Shadow? Did you obtain permission from Y'z to distribute this?

Why did you include cursors?

It seems like there is a lot of extra stuff you're distributing that is unnecessary and isn't related to the visual style at all. I'm not saying it's bad, I'm just saying if the whole point is the visual style, a 30mb download seems very pointless, especially for dial-up users.

@pwnzprat : Over saturated ? maybe its your monitors color profile. I moved a

window from windows over a window in PearPC to compare the differennce and

theyr identical.

flyakite is right! 30+ Mb in one package is not good :-/ Can you sort out it?

Just a note; you should use the latest Tiger menubar caps, which look a lot better. As shown in this OS X theme preview;

They're graphite now (even if you're using Regular Aqua) and are the bright blue/normal aqua when pressed.

Yeah that's what I'm currently using, however the 1px/0px border on this would be nice to have.

No my color profile is fine. I just applied the Tiger 8A294 guiKit theme (same as esXXi's preview) which has regular Aqua widgets and yours (in the screenshot) are definitely over-saturated.

I second that. The previews look lovely but 30MB is too big for me. It'd be great if you did put up a streamlined version.
