Aqua-Soft ForumsI want to create a list of all the bands I have in my iTunes Library. Does anyone know of a way that I could generate a list of Artists but with no duplicates and stuff? Thanks.

from command, dos, cmd, whatever you want to call it
navigate to said parent directory, containing the folders/files of music and type:
dir /a /b /p > filelisting.txt
where filelisting.txt is whatever you wish to call your output file
That's great and all. But is it possible that we too can get the answer?

too bad it doesn't list subdirs.
though you can add /s to it and it'll list full paths of all files including the subdirs... then later in notepad you can replace the root path with nothing so it lists just names

Sorry, had to. Thanks for this, it will prove very useful at some point, just not today as I'm too tired.
Don't forget filelisting.txt! I also had to delete ???? because console doesn't recognize Japanese characters.
