A Skin Choice For Aqua-soft

We want you guys to skin aqua soft!

No we are not planning to remove the current skin, however any member will have the ability to choose a skin!

We are still working on final touches for the site (like topic, forum images etc.) but they will be done pretty soon.

We just realized that people are pushing to bring the good old lay out that was based on the vBulletin message board.

*We wont post everything we get, but basically the best stuff that is fond of the most will get into the list of choices. *

I can personaly add that mac skins will have higher priority such as:

1) Raphsodized

2) Aqua

3) Graphite

4) Brushed

5) smooth stripes

6) milk

again, any complete themes that fit the site pretty good that are not a mac look - will be considered as well!

What does creating a skin involves? Just replacing the current graphics, or messing with layout etc?

means everyhing - like you can righ click an image and fetch it, and on top of that build what ever you want.

I'll talk to jef about having a complete change to make it possible to have round edges in the title bars of catagorys and forums.

I realise that this hasn't been posted to in a while, but I would be interested in designing a new skin for this board.

I have plenty of experience with phpBB2 boards and .tpl files.

I haven't made anything for IBP boards yet, but I'm willing to give it a shot.

P.S.

Could any of the board admins send me a copy of the current board skin/layout to use a a reference.

I tried the new skin option that is available and it's kinda crummy, views and functionality bite.

Functionality is the key... I don't care how pretty it looks, if it doesn't work, it's useless.

The current Aqua-Soft default skin and layout are pretty solid so I would like to use them as a starting point.

If this is possible, you can zip up the source and email it to me. rjohnstone@qwest.net(No file size limits on attachments)

And no... I will not use the current skin/layout, if sent to me, for any other purpose other than as a reference point.

I currently really like the present OS X Aqua skin, and have read about two weeks ago that our great community will be getting a new Invision Power Board around mid June...

My only suggestion for the new board would be to add a 'New Messages Feature' similar to what's on AquaXP...My reasoning being a lot of us use Savanna 0.90sp2 and even with 'unchecking Block Pop-ups in the security section' it still will not permit a PM Pop-up...

Sure we already have the 'Private Messages' feature, but it would be great to know when live one comes in..I recall reading a thread here about 1 month ago where a 'senior member' here and a Mod @AquaXP, was wondering why he never saw any pop-up PM, but when he checked his 'CP box' there were plenty, and he had already enabled the 'notify me' via pop-up PM in his 'CP' Profile

I love Savanna, and will continue to use it, for me on my laptop my browsers and their current mem resouce useage;

MSN Explorer 8.5- 33,000 kb

IE 6- 24,000 kb (All Aprox)..

Savanna .90sp2- 18,000 kb -********Got love this!
