Hey, just a quickie, do we really need Norton SystemWork on our mac? Does it do any good? Cos recently I got a copy of it but I am in between thoughts of whether to run it or not. On Pc, I was told it SystemWork takes up about 20% of the system resources, so I don't wanna risk another 20% from on my mac. Tell me guys what you think. Many thanks.
SystemWork on Panther?!
The same situation here. And I'd like to know, is it worth to be installed?
no it's not worth having.
no viruses, automatic defrag, etc etc. Also, a lot of people have difficulty with that software so I'd just leave it out.
Ludge speaks truth. Its useless, since there are only like 2 viruses for OS X.

There aren't any viruses for OS X, there were for OS 9. There have only been two 'malware' warnings since OS X's creation; one is simply an app made to 'appear' like an MP3 filetype; the other is a 'rootkit' that requires you to 1) Download or physically put on to your Mac, 2) Authenticate yourself as Admin to run it.
Needless to say that makes both; a) Not viruses, and
harmless 'in the wild.'
