[request] Widget Grouper

Hi everyone.

I was wondering if it was possible to make something like this for avedesk.

Say you have 5 icons and a stickie note on your desktop, and you want

to remove them all (not permenently), and then later you want them all

back again. However you dont want to waste time reconfiguring all the

settings for each icon and widget. With this, you could select a group of

widgets and save them as a "widget group". You would also get to save

them with a name, so then when you want them back again, you click

on the Desktop>Widget Groups>Widgetname. The widget grouper would

remember the position of all the widgets and their position in relation to

one another (Important !!). Also, you would have the option to make a

certain widget group movable by dragging the whole group with your

mouse instead of dragging one widget/icon that is inside the widget

group seperatly (Also Important!!)

Hope someone understood all that crap :S

Would this be possible ?

cya.

If you wait months and years (well, maybe not that long) for a future version of AD, yes, certain parts of your request are possible. Not with 1.1, though. :)

If you want a pre-release beta, donate to Ave. Please don't do it just for the beta, though-- I donated before I knew about this because I feel that AndreasV deserves it. Anyway, there's a link in Unbeliever's sig.

Hope this helps!

Yeah I would donate to ave if only I had something to donate. Im on a

really really really tight budget if you know what Im talking about. I mean

a kinda 0 $ per month earnings budget. :S

You can save a configuration (Or many of them) by doing this:

Set up Avedesk the way you want. Go to the Ave Desk control panel>Application> Save configuration. This saves your theme as "theme" (No quotes) in your AveDesk Folder. Create a folder called Themes in your avedesk folder. Copy your theme into the theme folder and rename it to theme - whatever you want. You can set up as many themes as you want. Then when you want a certain theme as your Avedesk again just Copy it back to the AveDesk Folder and name it theme. Restart AveDesk and there you go!! This accomplishes part of what you want. Hope this helps.....

Yeah, I suppose you can do that to. Make themes, save it, make a backup of it, make changes, and then save that.

All I'm saying is it's integrated into 1.2.

But dpg's suggestion works equally well.

Yeah Its not the same though, and you cant creat groups that you can move all

at the same time. Thats probably the most important part of all :S

Wait until 1.2 ;)
