Alright, my system tray is ugly:

And I'd like to make it look better, like OS X. The problem is, I want to keep the Windows style taskbar, so no Finder, File, Edit, etc. Buttons.
Is that possible?

Sure, just hide all the non-Aqua icons
Right click Taskbar-->Taskbar Tab-->Customize--> Select Always Hide for the Non-Aqua icons.
Works like a charm for me ![]()
-NC
Hmm, well there are some icons I want to keep, but aren't aqua. How would I go about changing them?
What I thought of would be some system file hack or something that hides all the regular windows icons, and show the OS X ones, that link to actual XP features. However by clicking the little plus sign it open up a little thingy that show your normal XP tasks.
reshack your systray icons. simple. ![]()
and if you don't know how to do that, just learn. grab a copy of resource hacker, edit a copy of the appropriate file (e.g. stobject.dll for the volume icon), replace the icon groups, then save and replace with replacer. done.
Yea, you're right they are ugly...
I forgot how ugly the windows xp systray icons were... It breaks up all the aqua authenticity we may try to get.
Be careful using rehacker, because I've heard that sometimes, this may cause your program to crash.
So don't forget to back up your files first ![]()
And for the Konfabulator tray icon, you can change it easily there are some replacement files available on aquasoft. So no need to use reshacker, at least for konfabulator!
