How Can I Minimize Tearing?

One of the many things I've noticed Mac does alot better than PC is smoother and faster refreshrate. If you I drag a window on my PC it starts to trail and break apart, the same happens to video, Mac however does this flawlessly.

before you ask I have the following - Leadtek Ti4600 . P4 2.4 . 512mg . 120gb HD WDJB 8mb buffer.

if these specs don't suffice than I don't know what does?!

Can Anyone perhaps supply some tips to solve this or simply explain why theres such a difference in both OS's?

It has nothing to do with the OS. Its all hardware. How high is your refresh rate? You know you can change it, right?

Right click on Desktop -> Properties -> Settings Tab -> Advanced Button -> Monitor Tab , Change refresh rate. Id leave "Hide modes...." enabled, as the wrong refresh rate can brake your monitor.

Your refresh rate is also directly dependant on your screen resolution. If your running at 1280x1024, its going to "blink" a lot more than 800x600. If you dont mind lowering your resolution, lower it, and then go back and up your refresh rate, more choices will appear.

i always thought mac os x had a little bit of a slower window dragging, ah well.. either way windows sucks... lol

It is recommended a 75 herz refresh rate or above, because lower refresh rates will not mislead your brain and your eyes will get tired, reaching a headache after 2-3 hours in front of the monitor (specially if you are reading).
