Change "HINT" Background color and Font color.
From Display Property>Detail Settings.
Background to dark color and Font color to light color.

What exactly is this detail settings thing?

I don't know how to get to that part of the Display Properties...

i think he means in 'Appearance > Advanced' change the window colour to something dark and the text colour to something light.

i would personaly love if we could have the pattern in the bg of the display settings box as my default folder bg, but i don't know if that's possible or not.
