Sweeeeeeeeeeeeet :D

#224531

Wow, excellent news. I've been using AveDesk for a few months now, but I'm really looking forward to this release. Best of luck ;)

#224546

I'm not a developer, I just wanted to sound professional ;)

#224548

hehe prepare $25 you guys ;) ;)

#224557

Hope there is a discount if you already paid out for the Mac version, otherwise that would be a bit of a cheek. Even if it's just $5 its a consideration to existing users.

#224568

There's a post on the forums which says that current Mac users wont be getting a discount, sorry Septimus :(

I love how its not yet released, btw. Thanks for getting my hopes up you bloody youngin! (@sipeecup)

#224574

sipeecup?

what the hell is that supposed to mean?

I remember hearing that there may be a discount.

#224575

lol, great news!

#224577

Don't even know if I'll get it for the PC. Happy with it on the Mac, but already have Kaps, DX2 and Ave to choose from.

To be honest I'd like to see Kaps get a bit more recognition... but I have a feeling there will be a whole new bandwagon for users to jump on soon. I'm guessing it not being free will hurt it somewhat though as we've seen before. :slant:

Re: The discount, Look here >> http://www2.konfabulator.com/forums/index....indpost&p=21989

You'll have to spend another $25, sorry.

We may have a promotional discount, but no guarantees...

Get out your pocket books fellers.

Anyone want to take wagers on how long this will take the windows warez community to warez/crack?

#224590

Why would anyone pay for this when we have Kapsules and AveDesk?

#224615

honestly with AD 1.2 and Kapsules i don`t see much need for Konfab :slant:

i`m not sating it`s not cool but i`d rather send some money to Ave and Andrew than pay for Konfab (it`s basically a matter of respect since Ave/Andrew are doing it for free)

#224618

@Unbe: we'll see, we'll see  Competition is getting sharper, that's good too :)

#224669

i never said competition was a bad thing ;)

but then, i always side up with the "little guy" :P

#224676

I never said that you said competition was a bad thing :D

I side up with Avedesk and Kapsules too but....it's sooo tempting...Konfabulator looks sooooooo good on mac....dang, I don't know what to think. 9 days left

#224677

samurize is always the one that seems to be left behind when talking about the "widgets" apps :( poor little samurize

#224680

let`s have a widget group hug! :(

and i refuse to succomb to iCandy!

/hides his 5 avetunes skins :P

#224682

Anyone want to take wagers on how long this will take the windows warez community to warez/crack?

I bet 10$ on 20 days or less.... :P

#224683

i bet that if this warez talk/betting doesn`t stop Pioterk will press that "close thread" button sooner than u can say "Jesus Franco, an artist Formally Known as BabyPapiChulo"!

Konfab isn't exactly anything but the little guy on Windows for the moment, it just as a mysticism about it which makes it seem more important on this site and many others just because it was developed on the Mac.

The look of it is nothing to do with how it performs, as any widget app on the PC can reproduce anything Konfab can technically, just Arlo and the look he created has become 'Mac like' so users want to emulate that.

If someone had the time, every Mac widget could be ported to all Kaps, Ave, DX and Samurize... but none of us have of course.

I admit I like using Konfabulator on my powerbook, but I don't have much choice of widget apps on OSX. I just hope Andreas', Andrew's and Stardock's et al efforts don't get pushed aside as soon as it's released for Windows.

As to Samurize being forgotten wookietv, it was never designed as a widget app. It's still the best sys monitor going. Widgets were only sort of supported due to popular demand at the time.

Got in from a few beers so I'm just spewing text and opinions, don't mind me ;)

#224697

Cheers buddy! It's college rival weekend, tailgating and halloween all at once. Beers all around!

#224699

Great news for the emulative community.smile2.gif

I'm aware of the memory usage of konfabulator, somebody told me that only weather widget could take up to 13,000KB of Ram, that's a huge amount compared to Avedesk :( :(

#224755

If you have a gig of ram, it's doesn't really matter and most of it will swap out to VM as it's not as though you are manipulating the weather widget constantly, unless your a little weird ;)
