iSight information

Do any of you have an iSight? If so, what has been your experience with it? I want any information you can give me. I say this because a friend of mine and i are planning to get iSights in the next week or so. Thanks

My experience has been completely positive. Great quality and easy to use. It is pricey, but other webcams I've used pale by comparison. It can work with your PC, I've used it on mine, but it won't be fully functional. It's superb on my G4, though.

They will problably release a colour one with more hours of battery life and more hhd space on it, cause this is what they do!

Right now there are no drivers for the iSight's sound to work on a PC, so you won't have the built-in mic working. Also, on both of my PC's the contrast of the image is a bit too high and I have not been able to figure out why, or adjust it at all. So to be honest, if you are only using it on a PC, for now you are better off getting a much cheaper PC friendly webcam. I highly recommend the iSight if you have Panther, though.

Man I feel ur pain! I bought a 17" G4 Powerbook... 35 days later they release a new suped-up version for $200 less than I what I paid. I bought a cinema display... 2 months later the new much classier looking cinema dsiplay is released... got a 4g iPod a few weeks ago... and of course we both know about that.... erg!! Apple is driving me nuts.

Thanks pazl, thats what i was hoping to hear. I have an ibook, so i wont have any driver issues

Edit: I got it, and its better than anyone could have discribed. Video chat is incredible with iChat. Everybody needs an iSight
