<help> is this a bug in Thunderbird?

when compose a new email if I drag and drop a jpg file right into the blank space where I type and send it only shows the test but not the jpg file. But, if I use the attach buttom for the jpg file then send it, it will show up correctly.... why is that? does thumderbird doesn't support drag and drop?

any clues?
