CherryOS Trial and Purchase Download Available November 25, 2004

We at Maui X-Stream (MXS) wish to communicate the current and future status of CherryOS.

On Tuesday, October 12, MXS — a software development company that specializes in video streaming, custom applications and web development — announced the immediate availability of CherryOS software. The announcement signaled a breakthrough in emulation development by providing a software emulator which allows Windows PC users to run Apple’s OS on x86 computer architecture, while preserving network capabilities and access to the host computer’s hardware resources.

As a direct result of the overwhelming response to our October 12 announcement, and in order to provide current and future customers with the timely service and attention such high-volume demand requires, MXS has chosen to extend the beta development for CherryOS. In order to accommodate those who were inconvenienced by the interruption of immediate access to the CherryOS download, and to further validate this breakthrough product, MXS will provide a free trial download of the CherryOS software, in addition to the purchase download on November 25, 2004.

It's illegal to use OS X on any non-Apple machine, but I doubt it's illegal to emulate the PowerPC platform.

u remember that guy who actually sold themes made by KoL and others? That was pathetic. Also while interesting, Cherry OS seems unlikely to be genuine succes so i suggest we all chill and ejnoy our lovely modded XP

If CherryOS is stealing PearPC's code, then it is illegal (as it is breaking the GPL).

If the code is seperate to PearPC's code (ie. code that looks similar as reported by the CherryOS creator, but hasn't been stolen) and created by the CherryOS creator, then it isn't illegal.

well since inside CherryOS there are functions with names that creator of PearPC made up, i`d say there is a pretty good change CherryOS is a rip off. :/

and his stupid remark that "it does a similar functions so names could be similar if not same" doesn`t hold up. How could he have made up the exact SAME name as the creator of PearPC?

Its not illegal te ouse PearPC code. Its illegal to use it, and not give the credit to PearPC and deny that you're using it.

If this guy is using PearPC (assuming he has finished CherryOS...) and telling people that its not PearPC code (which he is), then he's breaking the law.

They CAN use PearPC IF they release updates they make in it.

Otherwise if they use PearPC, mod it (update), sell it and DON'T release the updated code they are breaking GPL and thus, breaking the law.

So there's an update on Cherry OS site and tells now it will be available on: Q1 2005 from its original November 25, 2004 target date...

Now I've had it with this CherryOS hype.

First new about was impressive. With truely promising specs.

Then the first 'screenshots' appeared to be frouds.

Then the first testings seemed suspiciously close to PearPc,

then the delay and excuses, excuses without proof as a backup to those claims. November 25th would be the release date, with reservation bookings beforehand. Now another delay you tell me?

And that Arben dude nowhere to be found?

CherryOS? My ass, CherryBS seems to be more closely to the truth. CherryOS truely is a fraud, I say!!!

And amen to that.

Meanwhile Basalisk II is being revived for WinXP.

And that's no BS. They're using Cygwin.

Maybe this may be worth checking out?
